Acclaimed Ghanaian Afrobeats singer, King Promise, has revealed in a podcast that he has finished recording his next studio album.
On the Apple and Spotify aired podcast, Cocktails and Takeaways, he revealed that his “monster” hit, TERMINATOR, and PERFECT COMBI will be on his forthcoming album dubbed TRUE TO SELF.
When asked about the story of the album, he simply said he’s being true to himself.
“I’m being true to myself on this album… It’s like my most vulnerable album so far. It’s like when you hear Terminator, it’s like really my story… When I say Perfect Combi, it’s actually how I feel about girls.” — King Promise.
With TERMINATOR and PERFECT COMBI being massive hits and being on the album, he was asked if he’s envisaging a session in a nightclub where they’ll spin 4 songs from his TRUE TO SELF album in a row; and he said YES!
“There are songs for the club, songs for when doing your laundry, there are songs for when youre with your girls and thinking about what the f* guy has done to you and him mot apologising, there are songs for when you’re on the roadtrip, there songs for everybody. So like I said, I make music based on how I feel then after that I go back to the team who think about the business and the money then we settle on things.” – he said to Joyce.
When asked of the release date by the host, madame Joyce, he held on to that.
“I’m done with my part” – he swiftly responded.
