ATM hosted Barcelona over the weekend in a tricky encounter.
Atletico Madrid were aiming to win this encouter in order to move up high the league table.
For Barcelona, it was all or nothing for them as they were looking forward to clinching all three points following Real Madrid’s loss to Villareal on Saturday. The Los Blancos lost 2-1 away from home.
Before the end of the first half, Barcelona got their first and only goal in the match from Ousmane Dembele.
In the second half, the showpiece became highly competitive as ATM were trying all odds out to get the equalizer and possibly win the match.
An attempt to get the equalizer was a clearance by Ronald Araujo in the dying minutes of the game.( i.e a goal line clearance)
But as the game progressed, there was a tussle between Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic as both were fighting for a 50-50 ball.
As at now, reports are claiming Ferran Torres is expected to be suspended for 2 or 3 La Liga matches.
It will not affect his participation in the Spanish Super Cup. According to referee Munuera Montero’s report, his and Savic’s act is considered a violence but of mild nature.
