How much battery does one smartphone need? Most smartphones today offer enough battery to get you through a single day with plenty to spare. That said, it seems like smartphones can still pack in a lot more. A smartphone modder has recently packed a Samsung Galaxy A32 5G with an unbelievable 30,000mAh battery.
On Reddit (via 9to5Google), a user named u/Downtown_Cranberry44 attached six 50E cells to Samsung’s midrange smartphone. As a result, the phone now has 30000mAh (or 30Ah). According to the user, the modded device can ideally last a week on a single charge. The downside, however, is that it takes seven hours to charge.

That’s not the only drawback, though. As the photos show, the entire device is unwieldy and can’t fit in any pocket. Plus, since it’s held together with copious amounts of hot glue, it’s impractical to take the device on a spin outside of a controlled environment.
Also, modding an abnormally large battery onto the Galaxy A32 5G might not be all that necessary. The midrange smartphone already carries 5000mAh battery all on its own. It can last a whole day without the modifications.
Still, it’s interesting to see how much battery a smartphone can truly hold. Though smartphones can last a day or two now, a modern smartphone that can last a week is a sight to behold.
