From the time I became politically aware, I can state that we have walked backward on all dimensions to progress. And yet, with each political party claiming to solve the ills of the previous administration but only going on to be the worse.
Even worse is how they have created automatons out of the people who believe wholeheartedly in their steep binary outlook and interpretation of everything happening in the country. It’s like a great reset happened while we were asleep. We woke up and some people who are well educated have lost the ability to analyze and interpret basic concepts.
Beyond the stagnation of our social progress and degradation of our economic systems, I am even more worried about how politicians have successfully weaponized their following against others. We can’t agree or disagree on common ideas without someone questioning the motivations of another. This has often been used to silence even the most objective voices. The kinds of voices that would have kept our leaders honest and accountable to the country.
For example, look at what’s happening to our country today, 6/10 of those complaining today were once staunch supporters of the actions that led us to where we are today. And even if you asked them what they would do differently majority of them would struggle to directly tell you that they would have done something differently. Observing these behaviors can be challenging – it’s as if people have been hardwired to act and think in a certain way. Perhaps we need to relook our social construct because it may be difficult to progress from here.

But the worst group that I fear the most is those who have nothing to lose. They are creating great fortunes and will become the victims of their success. They align with politicians on both sides and join In siphoning resources from the state either way. This might seem smart but it’s only a matter of time. Today, politicians are being elected who owe more to specific people than those who voted them to power and the Constitution together- this crazy.
Our problems are big and I am not even sure if anyone has an appetite to address them. We seem to be sinking deep and fast. Who will halt this decay?
