Nigerian singer Joeboy has expressed his aim to attain the success levels of Don Jazzy and Olamide.
Don Jazzy couldn’t make it much as an artiste but had gone on to become arguably the biggest music executive across the shores of Africa. Reekado Banks, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Rema, Ayra Starr and others have all seen career success through his Mavin Records.
Olamide on the other hand relatively has seen a huge success as a musician. With Asake and Fireboy DML’s career trajectories marking his worth as a music executive.
In an episode of Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast hosted by Joey Akan, Joeboy poured his admiration for Don Jazzy and Olamide; underscoring that, it’s not about the money but to say hr helped people.
“I am so super excited about what is to come because one thing I always used to say to my friends then is that I want to be a combination of Don Jazzy and Olamide. Because it’s one thing to come into the game and create your own wave, and then help others and facilitate a lot more waves.
“It’s not even about the money, it’s about the fact that I can say I helped people,” Joeboy said.
