The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed optimism about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) prospects in the 2028 general elections, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party.
Speaking after the declaration by the electoral commisison which say the National Democratic Congress emerges as the winner of the 2024 Presidential election, Dr. Bawumia stated, “Once we are united, we’ll win the 2028 election.”
He further remarked on the party’s performance in the 2024 elections, suggesting that the NPP did not lose because the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was a stronger opponent but because internal challenges caused the party to “give it away.”
Dr. Bawumia urged members of the NPP to reconcile differences and work collaboratively toward strengthening the party’s position, calling for a unified front to regain the trust of the electorate.
