President-elect John Dramani Mahama has established a specialized team to collect and address public reports of suspected corruption cases.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, December 18, and signed by the spokesperson of the Mahama Transition Team, the formation of this initiative was officially announced.
The team aims to provide a direct platform for citizens to report corruption-related issues, reinforcing transparency and accountability.
The statement underscored President-elect Mahama’s unwavering commitment to combating corruption and ensuring the prudent management of public resources.
The team will be chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu. Other members include former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer. Their collective expertise is expected to significantly bolster the initiative’s impact.
This initiative is part of the incoming administration’s broader strategy to restore public confidence and fortify the institutions tasked with fighting corruption.
The team’s efforts will complement existing anti-corruption mechanisms while actively promoting citizen involvement in the fight against corruption.
