The long-standing feud between Ghanaian musicians Stonebwoy, the renowned reggae and dancehall artist, and Afro-pop singer Kelvyn Boy has taken another dramatic turn.
Following Stonebwoy’s recent accusations, which he claims caused their rupture years ago, tensions erupted. Despite years of separation, Kelvyn Boy has repeatedly attempted reconciliation, often through media outlets. He even publicly knelt, pleading with Stonebwoy to forgive and move on. However, Stonebwoy consistently refuses to engage or reconcile.
Even in media interviews, Stonebwoy has avoided discussing the matter. Yet, in a recent interview with Ike De Unpredictable on Angel FM, Stonebwoy was questioned about Kelvyn Boy’s peace offerings.
Stonebwoy’s response was sharp and dismissive: “Forget about that. Contact D-Black and Papa Logy; they can provide all the details. I don’t hold anything against him, but reconciliation is impossible. God intervened; He saw my pure heart and removed me from that situation. You would have heard that I had passed away.”
An agitated Kelvyn Boy responded, questioning Stonebwoy’s relentless animosity and defamation. He accused Stonebwoy of hindering his career and inciting public opinion against him.
“What do you want from me?” Kelvyn Boy exclaimed. “You’ve discredited me, turned Ghanaians against me, and portrayed yourself as a saint. Your ‘mafia tactics’ are preventing my success. But grace is on my side. Your initial attacks failed.
‘You want to spread death rumors now?’ Kelvyn Boy retorted regarding Stonebwoy’s recent accusations. ‘I’m laughing. How will an ‘Ayigbe Mafia’ like you fare against an Akan boy? Control your paranoia.'”
Despite the challenges posed by this ongoing feud, Kelvyn Boy has continued to produce music and build a good fanbase. He is known for his energetic performances and catchy songs that blend Afrobeat with elements of dancehall and reggae. Some of his popular songs include “Mea,” “Down Flat,” and “Forever.”
The escalating public feud raises concerns about the long-term impact on both artists’ careers and their reputations within the Ghanaian music industry.
