The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) declared an indefinite strike, which started on Thursday, January 2, 2025, due to the government’s failure to address longstanding grievances.
Despite engaging in multiple discussions and following through with arbitration rulings, CETAG has seen no satisfactory resolutions to the critical issues affecting its members, such as salaries, conditions of service, and improved working conditions.
The association has voiced its deep frustration over the government’s inaction, prompting its decision to launch a nationwide strike to press for change.
While the government has not yet responded to CETAG’s declaration, the union has clarified that the CETAG indefinite strike will continue indefinitely unless the government takes prompt action to meet their demands.
