Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq lost the Okaikwei Central seat to Patrick Yaw Boamah, who held onto his seat in the recent general elections.
With 21,099 votes, Patrick Yaw Boamah was proclaimed the winner by the Electoral Commission, while Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq, the candidate for the National Democratic Congress, received 19,368 votes.
Officially announcing the results, Okaikwei Central’s Deputy Returning Officer Harrison Kwabena Agyapa confirmed all 141 polling station results had been fully compiled in accordance with the court’s order to include the 31 polling stations that were still unaccounted for.
In an interview with the media following his win, Patrick Yaw Boamah said, “We always thought the statistics were not going to alter, and we had to follow due process. We praise God for a nonviolent declaration and workout.
