Michael Afrane, a Kumawood actor, has stated his steadfast support for John Dramani Mahama, the recently sworn-in president.
He made this statement on January 7, 2024, the day Mahama was sworn in, precisely one month after winning a landslide victory in the December 2024 election.
Known for his fervent advocacy, Afrane called Mahama a “God-sent” and highlighted the importance of his reappointment to the presidency.
“It is he who is said to have wielded the blade three times. Mahama is a gift from God. He can’t be president again, they claimed. According to some, he has been barred from the Flagstaff House. Despite their many words, God has revealed himself. Afrane announced that His Excellency John Mahama was now the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Afrane expressed his hopes for Mahama’s leadership, especially in tackling the issues left by the previous government.
“As he stated, I anticipate that he will reset Ghana. Because he (Mahama) is the one who can salvage Ghana from the direction the NPP government has taken the nation. We are thus asking God to grant him the courage, power, and discernment necessary to lead this nation,” he continued.
The actor was also upbeat about the entertainment sector’s prospects during Mahama’s administration.
“Yes, we have discussed so many things already and I know that under His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the industry will be back,” Afrane said.
Black Star Square hosted the historic inauguration celebration, which brought together leaders and residents from all over the world to commemorate the start of President John Dramani Mahama’s term.
