King Faisal FC owner Alhaji Karim Grusah has expressed frustration over Ghana’s disappointing performance in the AFCON qualifiers, where the Black Stars failed to qualify for the competition in Morrocco despite being in a group with Niger, Sudan, and Angola.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Alhaji Grusah expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of Ghana football, calling for the removal of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku and his administration.
Grusah described the situation as “unacceptable” and called on the government to take decisive action to address the challenges facing Ghanaian football.
“The government must help Ghana football by removing Kurt Okraku and the entire GFA leadership,” he stated emphatically. “FIFA cannot punish us for taking such a step. We need to be honest with ourselves.”
The football administration under Kurt Okraku has faced significant criticism, with many Ghanaians expressing concerns about his leadership compared to previous administrations.
Despite having three years remaining in his tenure, there is growing debate over whether he should be dismissed. Grusah asserts that a complete overhaul is essential to revive Ghana’s footballing pride and enhance its competitiveness globally
The Blackstar’s will now focus on the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March where they will battle with Chad and Madagascar.
