Kwaku Manu, a Kumawood actor, expressed his thoughts on the abuse of democracy and free speech in the nation by certain individuals.
Kwaku Manu made the observation that democracy is not for Ghanaians in a video posted on social media on January 21, 2025.
“The country’s jokes are getting out of hand, and it is time for the leaders to take a clear stance on several subjects. Even if our nation has courts, police, and even the military, someone will still sit on national radio and say whatever he wants.
“Ghanaians aren’t enjoying democracy. Not only is it not helping Black guys, but it is also not helping Africans. If that were, he said, “how can children taunt chiefs and get away with it?”
Additionally, Kwaku Manu urged Captain Smart, a media celebrity, to moderate his criticism of the nation’s leading figures.
“Our commanders ought to counsel Captain Smart… You don’t have the right to mistreat people in a democracy. I believe it’s time for Captain Smart to stop using insults and criticism of others,” he continued.
In reaction to an old footage of Captain Smart that has emerged online, Kwaku Manu made these remarks.
The host in the video launched into a tirade against AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) for allegedly denying indigenous peoples their rights with military backing.
On the other hand, some internet users have linked the presenter’s video to a recent massacre that killed about nine people and broke out between some Obuasi citizens and the soldiers.
