Bawku Central Member of Parliament(MP), Mahama Ayariga, has officially been named the new Majority Leader in Parliament. He replaces Cassiel Ato Forson, who now serves as the Minister of Finance.
This reshuffle brings strategic realignment to the Majority Caucus. South Dayi MP, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, is set to take over as Majority Chief Whip, replacing Governs Agbodza, who was recently appointed Minister for Roads and Highways.
Cape Coast South MP, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, is expected to assume the role of Deputy Majority Leader, succeeding Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who now heads the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Additionally, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the current Second Deputy Whip, is speculated to be promoted to First Deputy Whip. This anticipated elevation is expected to further strengthen the leadership on the Majority’s front bench.
The reshuffle reflects the leadership’s efforts to enhance coordination and stability within the Majority Caucus. These changes come as the newly appointed ministers settle into their respective portfolios, and the Caucus seeks to maintain a seamless relationship between Parliament and the executive.
The adjustments are intended to bolster collaboration in advancing the government’s policies and national development goals.
Further announcements regarding these leadership shifts are expected in the coming days.
