Ghanaian international and POAK left-back Baba Rahman has expressed his aspirations to represent the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The defender, who has faced several injury setbacks in his career, remains optimistic about contributing to Ghana’s national team on the world stage once again.
In a recent interview, Rahman shared his excitement about the upcoming tournament, stating, “Of course I think about playing in another World Cup and I think Ghana is on the right path to qualify,” he told the BBC.
“At the moment I’m just concentrating on getting healthy, getting as many games in my legs as possible for PAOK. Then I’ll see what happens in the future.”.”
The 2026 World Cup, set to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be a major opportunity for Rahman to make an impact on the international scene after both group-stage elimination of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Rahman, currently with PAOK FC, has made an impressive start to the 2024/25 Greek Super League season, featuring in eight matches and scoring two goals.
