Sudanese national team head coach head, James Akwesi Appiah, has expressed his reluctance to advocate for Sudanese players to play for the Ghana Premeir League gient Asante Kotoko following a recent incident involving two players who left the team’s camp under unclear circumstances. Speaking to Asempa FM, Coach Appiah disclosed his frustration over the situation, which has influenced his decision to avoid pursuing Sudanese talent for the club.
“The truth is, because of the two players who ran away from Asante Kotoko’s camp, I am not willing to bring any Sudanese players to Ghana,” Appiah stated.
He revealed that the captain of the Sudanese national team had shown interest in joining Asante Kotoko in the future. However, Appiah emphasized that for now, he is uninterested in facilitating the transfer of any Sudanese players to Ghana, citing the challenges faced during the recent episode.
“The Sudan captain has expressed his wish to play for Asante Kotoko one day, but for now. I am not interested in bringing any Sudanese player to Ghana.”
