Isaac Koomson, a Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairmanship aspirant has unveiled a bold plan to safeguard the welfare of club owners and administrators in Ghana.
As part of his campaign promises, Koomson pledged to introduce an insurance policy aimed at protecting those involved in football administration. Speaking on Asempa FM, he emphasized the need for such a policy, citing the numerous risks club administrators face, particularly in the Ghana Premier League and Division One.
“I will introduce an insurance policy for club owners and administrators. Club administration involves constant travel across the country. Accidents can happen, someone can get sick, or even die,” Koomson stated.
The proposed insurance initiative will provide coverage for health emergencies, accidents, and other unforeseen incidents. This move is intended to create a safety net for the individuals who play vital roles in ensuring the growth and sustainability of football in Ghana.
Koomson highlighted the challenges associated with frequent travel, often over long distances and on poor road networks, as a key factor driving the need for such a policy. He believes that ensuring the welfare of club owners and administrators is essential for fostering a stable and thriving football ecosystem in the country.
The announcement has drawn attention and sparked discussions within the football community, with many praising Koomson’s focus on the welfare of those behind the scenes. His vision, if implemented, could mark a significant step toward improving conditions for Ghana’s football administrators.
As the GHALCA elections approach, Isaac Koomson commitment to addressing the challenges faced by club administrators positions him as a candidate with a clear plan for the future of Ghanaian football.
