The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has kick-started the “Rebuilding Our Base” tour with an engagement session involving TESCON executives and pro-NPP student leaders at the University of Ghana.
The initiative aims to reconnect the party with its grassroots and address challenges following recent electoral setbacks.
Speaking to national officers, student leaders, and TESCON executives, Kodua stressed the need for proactive steps beyond the recommendations of the Oquaye Committee, which reviewed the party’s electoral performance.
Highlighting the party’s deep historical roots, Kodua traced the NPP’s lineage to political groups such as the UGCC, NLM, UP, PP, and PFP. He emphasized that revitalizing the party requires reconnecting with these foundational elements to strengthen its support base.
“We cannot just wait without embarking on a certain journey,” he stated, stressing the urgency of rebuilding ties with the grassroots.
The tour signals a decisive move to revitalize the party’s grassroots while aligning strategies with the expectations of its core supporters.
Justin Kodua Frimpong engagement with TESCON, the NPP’s tertiary education wing, demonstrates the party’s commitment to involving younger members in its rebuilding process. The outreach marks the beginning of a broader initiative to strengthen the NPP’s support base and position it for future electoral victories.
