Former Aduana Stars striker, Isaac Mintah, has joined Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal. He has expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “I’m so happy to join Kotoko; it’s a huge moment in my career. This club has a strong winning mentality, and I’m ready to be part of that.”
The 26-year-old recognizes the competitive nature of the Kotoko squad, particularly in the attacking positions. However, he views this as a positive challenge, stating, “I know there’s a lot of competition for places here, especially in the attacking areas, but that only motivates me to push harder and improve every day.”
Mintah emphasized his commitment to contributing to the club’s success, stating, “I’m here to give my best, help the team, and contribute to the success of this great club.”
Mintah was a free agent after leaving Al-Ahli Tripoli in August 2024. Prior to his stint in Libya, he excelled with Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League, scoring 17 goals in 40 matches. He initially joined the club in 2022 from lower-tier side New Edubiase United.
Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his delight with the acquisition, stating: “Isaac is an exceptional forward who knows how to make things happen in the final third. His eye for goal and ability to link up with teammates make him a perfect fit for our style of play. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing him do well for us’’
Mintah’s arrival strengthens Kotoko’s attacking options, joining recent signings Kwame Opoku and Sampson Eduku.
Isaac Mintah could make his debut for Kotoko in their upcoming Ghana Premier League match against Vision FC on January 19, depending on the coach’s tactical decisions.
