Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Mr. Kurt Okraku, recently embarked on a tour of the Central and Western regions, where he unveiled some exciting initiatives. The tour commenced in Ekumfi Ejumaku in the Central Region, where the Esassan Park was equipped with a borehole project. Mr. Okraku personally commissioned the FIFA Forward GFA Borehole Project at the Esassan Park.
Moving on to Tarkwa Akon Park, the GFA President witnessed an enthralling match between Medeama and Tamale City, which attracted football enthusiasts from far and wide. The occasion was truly captivating for all present.
At Gyandu Park, Mr. Okraku inaugurated another borehole project before visiting the office of the Regional Minister, Kobi Okyere Darko Mensah. During this visit, he presented a petition to the minister, requesting assistance in renovating the Essipong Sports Stadium.
During a media interaction, Mr. Kurt Okraku graciously shared the secrets behind his remarkable success story. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve humanity and contribute to the football ecosystem. He acknowledged the exceptional support he receives from his Executive Council members, especially the humble Vice President. Mr. Okraku, known for his demanding nature, stated that he works tirelessly, dedicating 26 hours a day to his responsibilities.
Reflecting on the administration’s inception, the GFA President identified a lack of standardized football facilities in the Upper East region. In response, the GFA embarked on an infrastructural development project to construct a FIFA-approved technical center in the area. The completed astroturf, equipped with floodlights, is set to be inaugurated soon. The subsequent phase will involve constructing stands and the RFA office to further uplift the region’s football infrastructure.
Additionally, Mr. Okraku highlighted ongoing efforts in Prampram, emphasizing the GFA’s vision to ensure every region in Ghana benefits from high-quality football pitches. He urged everyone to support the Executive Council and the Regional Football Associations in achieving this ambitious goal and transforming it into reality.
