In a recent revelation, Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Group, confirmed that only three artistes are currently signed to a 360 deal with the label. The exclusive list comprises KiDi, DJ Vyrusky, and DSL.
Richie Mensah clarified the distinction between a 360 deal and a distribution deal, emphasizing that the former entails a comprehensive management approach, where the label handles all aspects of the artiste’s career. In contrast, a distribution deal focuses solely on getting the artiste’s music out to the public, potentially accompanied by advances.
“There are three artistes on the 360 deal, there’s Kidi, Dj Vyrusky, and DSL. So now because we have distribution, anyyone can sign on to the distribution, so the 360 means we handle everything for you but the distribution means we’re handling your music going out there. It can come with advances, but it’s not an investment like the label, that’s the difference,” he explained
This disclosure sheds light on the evolving dynamics of the music industry, where labels are adapting to new business models. Lynx Group’s approach reflects a strategic shift towards targeted investments in artiste development, while also providing opportunities for other artistes to access distribution channels.
The confirmation of KiDi, DJ Vyrusky, and DSL as the only artistes on a 360 deal with Lynx Group underscores the label’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering long-term success. As the music landscape continues to evolve, Richie Mensah’s insights offer a glimpse into the inner workings of a leading industry player.
