Legal and governance expert Prof. Kwame Gyan Esq. has described the establishment of an 11-member committee chaired by Mike Oquaye as unnecessary.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) appointed former Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye, to head an 11-member committee tasked with reviewing the party’s significant defeat in the 2024 general elections.
The committee’s mandate includes investigating the factors that contributed to the party’s poor performance at the polls and providing actionable recommendations to rebuild and reposition the NPP for future elections.
Speaking on Angel FM with Saddick Adams, Prof. Kwame Gyan argued that the issues the committee seeks to address are already known, emphasizing that “they know the ‘Jonah’ in the boat.”
His remarks suggest a belief that the committee’s efforts may be redundant, as the root cause of the challenges is apparent.
