President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a slate of ministerial nominees, reflecting his governance vision and priorities.
Among the nominees is Haruna Iddrisu, former Minority Leader in Parliament, designated as Minister for Education. With a wealth of experience in legislative matters, Iddrisu is expected to drive transformative policies in Ghana’s education sector.
Governs Kwame Agbodza has been nominated for the Roads and Highways Ministry, a sector vital for national infrastructure development and connectivity.
For the agriculture sector, Eric Opoku, known for his expertise in rural development, is the Minister for Food and Agriculture-designate. He is expected to lead efforts to enhance food security and support farmers.
The newly created Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment will be led by NDC Youth Organiser Opare Addo, whose role will focus on tackling youth unemployment and fostering innovation.
Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare has been nominated as Minister for Trade and Agribusiness, tasked with boosting trade relations and promoting agribusiness as an economic growth driver.
Ahmed Ibrahim has been tapped to lead the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, while Emelia Arthur has been nominated as Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
