Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, made an appearance on 3MUSIC TV’s CULTURE DAILY show on February 16, 2024, where he touched on so many issues; ranging from his early life, real estate, charity works, music business, and the music industry.
One can recall Shatta Wale and Burna Boy threw insults and threats at each other on social media in the year 2022.
Shatta Wale was asked by Olele Salvador if he’ll ever do a record with Burna Boy again.
“I have no problem with Burna Boy,” Shatta Wale swiftly and plainly replied.
It’s also known that Burna Boy was living with Shatta Wale in Ghana during the early stages of his (Burna Boy) career; and he’s now on a higher position when it comes to the global scale with sales, performing on bigger stages, and globally acclaimed awards.
With that, many have the impression that Shatta Wale should have been on the same pedestal or even higher. He was asked to share his view on that and he claimed he has never wished to be in Burna Boy’s position.
“I’m not a Nigerian, I’m a Ghanaian… Where Burna Boy is from, the mindset is different. I was too okay when Burna Boy and I met. I had like 10 cars and 2 houses. He used to ask if I acquired all these with money made from music and I say yes.”
“The only problem I had with is when I sacked some of my boys from my camp, and of them told him I’ve been sleeping with his girlfriend and he believed them without asking me. If you’ve been told such, try call me and find out. But if you refuse to pick my calls and go around telling people that I’ve slept with your girlfriend, when I hear these things, it gets me angry. That’s the only problem I had with him but it’s cool; everybody is on his own. But there’s no way I’ve watched Burna Boy and felt that I should have rather reached where he is now,” Shatta Wale stated.
