The Sports and Recreation Minister-designate, Kofi Adams, has expressed his long-standing confidence in playing a pivotal role under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
In an interview with GHOne TV, Adams emphasized his unwavering belief in the party’s vision and his readiness to contribute to national development.
“I’ve always known I’ll play a role under this NDC administration. The values and policies of the party align with my passion for public service and my dedication to youth and sports development,” he stated confidently.
The Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency, will succeed Mustapha Ussif as the Minister of Sports AND Recreation. A prominent figure within the NDC, he previously served as the party’s Deputy General Secretary and National Organizer.
Kofi Adams emphasized a holistic approach to sports development in Ghana, stating, “Sports is not only about football, and sports in Ghana is not only about the Black Stars.” He expressed commitment to fostering the growth of all sports disciplines, envisioning a system that nurtures diverse talents across the country.
Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, announced Adams’ nomination as the Minister for Sports and Recreation as part of the third batch of cabinet appointments submitted to Parliament for approval.
Adams shared his vision for the ministry, highlighting the need to build a robust foundation for sports across all disciplines. “I want to see a systematic development of sports in every discipline,” he remarked during the interview.
