Former Black Stars and Bayern Munich defender, Sammy Kuffour, has resigned from his role as a member of the Black Stars Management Committee, according to Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Kuffour resigned before the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola, citing the need to focus on his duties as President of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), an accredited body by FIFPro that aims to build relationships among professional footballers, protect their interests, and provide them with skills after their football careers end.

The PFAG also seeks to create partnerships among all sectors of the football community to improve the lives of footballers and the development of sport in Ghana. Kuffour made 53 appearances for the Black Stars and was a member of the team that qualified Ghana to its first World Cup in 2006.
