Kamila Grabska loses $800K disability case after photos emerge of her winning tree-throwing competition.
The 36-year-old mom claimed she had to quit her job after she sustained neck and back injuries in a February 2017 car crash.
The tree throwing competition was in 2018.
In Ireland, a woman named Kamila Grabska faced a significant setback in her injury lawsuit after a photo of her winning a Christmas tree-throwing contest surfaced online.
Grabska, 36, from Ennis in County Clare, had previously sued RSA Insurance for over $800,000, claiming debilitating neck and back pain from a 2017 car accident. This accident, she argued, prevented her from working for five years, causing substantial loss of income (~$542,000).
However, evidence presented in court, including a photo from the contest held in January 2018 and video footage of her playing with a dog for over an hour, led the judge to conclude her claims were exaggerated.
The Irish High Court dismissed her case, with the judge highlighting the agility and strength Grabska demonstrated in the contest as inconsistent with her claims of disability. Grabska maintained that she had not faked her injuries, stating her intention was to lead a normal life despite her conditions
